Séamus Duggan At the moment "I am Grimaldi" is my favourite track, although that could change. A stupendous album.
"I can't seem to stop this melancholy'
What it means to me can only be expressed by the phrase" Diddy Wah Diddy"

markwinson Because I was there and a feeling the band was enjoying the gig as much as we were .
All songs enhanced by the augmented line up.
A truly wonderful evening x

Tim Mee As another reviewer says, it’s easy to keep changing your mind as to which track is the best here - they’re all so good.
Anyone who has been living in a cave since the 80s (or who was born in the 00s!) will quickly see that here is the reason why fine bands like Yard Act and Black Country New Roads exist.
The BIG bonus on this album (a very fine primer for those new to the band by the way) is the addition of (session-man royalty!) Terry Edwards on saxophone. Favorite track: Mark Meets No Mark (live).

Gavin Hellyer Much to love here, and I reckon I'm lucky to have it so soon because I've noticed it's on pre-order now and not due for release until September 15. I just clicked on last night's email link and immediately grabbed it when I could. Just fantastic, like all Nightingales stuff.

about

The Nightingales - the best live band in the UK - have unleashed a recording of one of their hottest shows (with an expanded seven-piece line-up!) . . . something that's long overdue.

After a string of brilliant albums and the release of the Michael Cumming / Stewart Lee documentary film, "King Rocker", it shouldn't have been possible for The Nightingales to dazzle as completely as they do here, but the proof's in the pudding - this is one of the best live albums of all time, and only available in a limited quantity . . . two albums on cabbage green vinyl, in an individually-numbered gatefold sleeve, with amazing mixing and mastering courtesy of bassist / engineer Andi Schmid.

about

Nightingales Birmingham, UK

Robert Lloyd's career began at the start of punk, as leader of Birmingham's best punk band, The Prefects, who were wildly ahead of their time in experimentation and age, despite their relative youth.

After the band's evolution into The Nightingales, Robert Lloyd become the combo's sole constant member, and he's led the band through a dozen or so brilliant albums across at least as many labels.
